This was one of the most efficient appointments I’ve had in years. Not only that, the staff was courteous and seemed genuinely concerned about customer service. I don’t remember the tech (soon to be Dr) that did my eye exam, but she was friendly, thorough and definitely an asset to the practice. I wasn’t aware I was see another physician, I was expecting to see Dr Randall Smith. So when the front desk told me I was seeing someone else, I gringed. But, I pleasantly surprised to have someone who took time to introduce himself, carefully checked my test results and didn’t seem to be so rushed.

Dr Smith was fantastic. Cataract surgery in both eyes went as advertised with no issues. Follow up appointments were timely ( within the bounds of normal clinic wait periods) and complete. The results of the surgery was noticeable the day after surgery. If you need cataract surgery this is the Doctor and facility to go to.

Had cataract surgery performed by Dr. Randall Smith a month ago--both eyes, about a week apart. I went into this with a lot of trepidation--I only need these eyes to see--and the whole idea of any sort of eye surgery terrified me. Plus, it involved replacing original equipment, the lenses in my eyes. Dr. Smith and his team were outstanding. First, he's done literally thousands of cataract surgeries and knows his way around both the process and the questions and concerns a guy like me would have. He addressed each and every one in detail, assuring me I was in good hands. Second, the Eye Center of Northern Colorado has their process down to an art, starting with scheduling all of the necessary appointments in advance. The pre-op appointments told me exactly what to expect and provided clear and easy-to-follow instructions, even paying attention to relatively small details like the custom, combined eyedrops in a single solution (instead of three different ones) that are used both prior to and after surgery. The day of surgery was a breeze. The surgical center is in the same building as the clinic, and everything went off like clockwork, from the moment I checked in until they wheeled me out the door to my wife's waiting car. In between, I was attended by knowledgeable nurses who got me ready; met the anesthetists who would manage the sedation to keep me both calm and comfortable during the surgery (they did an amazing job!); and had a brief chat with Dr. Smith to make sure I was ready to go. They all were top-notch professionals at what they did. The whole thing was over before I knew it, and the "deep sedation" was more than adequate in getting me through. They even had Grateful Dead playing for me on the sound system as they put me under! Finally, the new lenses Dr. Smith put into my eyes literally let me see the world as I hadn't in decades. I can see my computer screen without glasses for the first time ever and I'd no idea how much the cataracts had changed my perception of colors--"white" has taken on a whole new meaning. So the bottom line here is that everyone at the Eye Center of Northern Colorado knows what they're doing and does it well. I can assure anyone concerned about having cataract surgery there that they make it easier and more comfortable than a routine teeth cleaning. And the results will literally let you see the world as you haven't in years!

Dr. Smith and his team, along with the full support staff at the Eye Center of Northern Colorado, are exemplary professionals in every way. I just finished up with cataract surgery on both eyes, and I’ve never had such a highly skilled and caring team as I had with Dr. Smith’s team. His assistant Cole is truly amazing as well. He’s so knowledgeable and kind. And Dr. Smith is a brilliant surgeon. The entire office is run by a highly choreographed team of support staff, technicians, nurses, and doctors. The wait time between each stage is next to none. And each team member I was seen by tended to my every need, answered questions, and made sure I felt completely relaxed and comfortable, which I did! Getting prepped before the procedure (a warm blanket and pillows under my knees—so nice!) was a breeze, and the care nurses were amazing. Then the surgery itself— it was virtually painless! And not only was there no pain, there wasn’t even a sensation of pressure. The surgery is super short too. To sum it up—easy peasy. Nothing to it. They did a great job! I’m so glad I found this office! I can’t recommend them enough. A+!

Dr. Smith at Eye Center of Northern Colorado is a "no holds barred" eye surgeon. By this I mean highly skilled, perfectionist, diagnostically on target and picks a team to work along side of him that Do the same! Cole, his diagnostic assistant is smart, efficient and compliments the whole visit. My cat jumped on my head in the middle of the night trying to escape from the bed. Luckily, my eyes were closed but his back paws landed on my eye. I received several scratches on my outer eye but he also clawed the corner of my eyeball. I called the Eye Center first thing in the morning and they worked me in that morning to see Dr. Smith. He and his team thoroughly examined my injuries and determined that I needed surgery. Dr. Smith had me added to his surgery schedule that evening. My eye is almost healed and I am grateful for Dr. Smith and the entire team for taking such great care of me.

The Eye Center of Northern Colorado was exceptional. They were thorough, friendly and very excited about what they do. For the fist time since I was 9 years old I can see when I wake up. It is a game changer in every area of my life. Following my Lasik surgery I cried tears of joy when I could see my daughters face without glasses or contacts.
