We are excited to welcome Dr. Katie Perez to our optometry team! Dr. Perez brings advanced training, a passion for pediatric eye care, and a commitment to compassionate, evidence-based treatment for children and young adults in Northern Colorado.
Dr. Perez earned her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Drake University before completing her Doctor of Optometry degree at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, where she graduated summa cum laude. She recently completed a Pediatric Optometry residency at Children’s Hospital Colorado, gaining specialized experience in comprehensive pediatric eye care and the management of ocular disease in children. She also has extensive knowledge in specialty contact lenses and myopia management, allowing her to care for a wide range of visual needs.
Dr. Perez was inspired to pursue optometry by her own optometrist, who showed her how profoundly eye care can impact a patient’s quality of life. During her training, she found herself drawn to pediatrics, valuing the opportunity to make a lasting difference during critical stages of visual development. Her residency experience was especially meaningful, and she credits the children she worked with for teaching her just as much as she taught them.
When it comes to patient care, Dr. Perez is deeply committed to evidence-based medicine, with a strong emphasis on early detection of conditions that may affect visual development. She believes in providing individualized, compassionate care and partnering with families to support each child’s visual health.
Dr. Perez is thrilled to join our practice and is excited to bring another dedicated pediatric eye care resource to the Northern Colorado and Wyoming region. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, reflecting her dedication to continued learning and clinical excellence.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Perez enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, and exploring the outdoors with her dog.
