High Index: Thin, lighter weight lens material used to make strong corrections more attractive and comfortable. They also absorb harmful UV light.
Polycarbonate: One of the most impact resistant lens materials on the market. This is the lens material of choice for sports and children.
Trivex: Newest lens material available. Features the clarity of CR-39, the strength of polycarbonate and excellent light transmission for low light conditions.
Photochromic: Lens that changes from light (indoors) to dark (outdoors). Available in most lens designs and materials.
Conventional Bifocals/Trifocals: Segmented lens used to correct distance and near vision; trifocal gives added intermediate vision. Available in most lens materials and a variety of segment sizes.
Progressive Lenses: State of the art lens design used to correct distance, intermediate, and near vision. Progressive lenses do not have segments (lines) and provide a smoother transition from distance to near. A variety of designs are available that offer specific areas of performance. Customized Progressive lenses are available.
Polarized: Sun lenses that provide superior protection and comfort from reflected glare. Sun lens of choice for driving, fishing, skiing, and many other outdoor activities.
Computer Lens: Lens design with specific focal lengths for computer use.
Scratch Resistant Lenses: Hard surface incorporated in manufacturing process. All lenses provided by Eye Center Optical are scratch resistant without additional cost.
Ultraviolet (UV) Coating: Added treatment to conventional plastic lenses. UV protection is an inherent property of polycarbonate and high index lenses. UV protection prevents harmful UV light from damaging the cornea and retina. With the exception of glass lenses, UV protection is standard on all lenses at Eye Center Optical.
Anti-Refrective/Non-Glare Lenses: Reduces glare and eye fatigue caused by artificial light. Ideal for night driving and computer use.
