If you are not a candidate for LASIK surgery, then the Visian ICL lens may be right for you. The Visian ICL is an implantable collamer lens that can help patients with myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. Visian ICL works best for patients who have corneas that are too thin to qualify for LASIK.

The procedure can be performed on an outpatient basis and provide patients with clear vision results equal to LASIK. The Visian ICL is surgically inserted inside the eye, between the iris and the eyes natural lens. The Visian ICL offers the patient great flexibility because if your vision changes, and becomes worse in time, the ICL can be removed and replaced, through another simple procedure. Also, glasses or contact lenses can be worn to further improve vision if necessary.

You could be considered a candidate for the Visian ICL implant if you suffer from extreme nearsightedness, have thin corneas and are not a LASIK candidate, have a history of dry eye, or if you have large pupils.
