Randall W. Smith, M.D.

Dr. Smith graduated with Highest Distinction from Northwestern University with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering. He earned his medical degree at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1989 and recieved awards for research in optics and corneal physiology. After his intership at Overlook Hospital, a Columbia University Affiliate in New Jersey, he returned to his home state to complete his ophthalmology residency at the Eye Institute at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1993 and served as a VA chief resident. Dr. Smith worked in private practice in New Jersey with additional training in refractive surgery before he and his family moved to Fort Collins in 1996.

Dr. Smith's comprehensive ophthalmology and refractive practice treats a wide range of eye disease including cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration. His practice emphasizes custom cataract surgery and laser vision correction to achieve optimal sight at all distances for his patients. He enjoys matching the multiple lens and laser options to his patient's needs including the latest in iLASIK, CK, asitgmatism-correction, Tecnis Multifocal, Crystalens and ReStor. He enjoys teaching and working with residents and other doctors and is principal or co-investigator on corneal and cataract research studies.
