The Eye Center has a state of the art outpatient eye surgery center in the same building as the medical clinic ( the Fort Collins main office). It is the only facility of its kind in Northern Colorado.

The surgery center offers patients the advantages of convenience, a comfortable, friendly environment and a staff dedicated to quality patient care and satisfaction. The surgery center is a Medicare certified facility.

Once a patient has made the decision for surgery, they will be scheduled for pre-operative education by the surgery center staff. All surgery is performed as outpatient procedures. The average stay at our ambulatory surgery center is 1-3 hours.

Advancements in ultrasound and laser technology have resulted in innovations in ophthalmic outpatient therapy.

Eye Center receives recognition in top accreditation status!

Eye Center of Northern Colorado has achieved accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). Status as an accredited organization means Eye Center of Northern Colorado has passed a series of rigorous and nationally recognized standards for the provision of quality health care, set by the AAAHC.

“Accreditation underscores our long-standing commitment to providing the highest possible levels of quality care to the community we serve.”

Our experience at the Eye Center of Northern Colorado has been extraordinary and has involved routine appointments, surgery and optometry.

Our seven year old son Mac became a patient of The Eye Center on Christmas Day 2004 when he accidentally cut his eye with a steak knife. He received prompt and expert care from Dr. Foster who repaired his eye during emergency surgery. Dr. Arnold took over Mac’s follow-up care and subsequent surgeries. His kind and warm manner put Mac at ease and filled us with confidence that Mac’s injury would have a bright outcome.

Our experience with Dr. Arnold was profound in many ways and when our 12 year old daughter failed her school vision screening I didn’t hesitate to make her a routine eye care appointment with Dr. Arnold. During that exam it became apparent that her slightly poor vision was the result of a serious problem. Dr. Arnold moved quickly on his findings and arranged for an MRI that same day and a neurosurgery consultation at Denver’s Children Hospital the next day. Charli was diagnosed and treated for a brain tumor. She continues to see Dr. Arnold to monitor the progress of her vision. Dr. Arnold has been gracious with his time and advice when I needed another opinion to help sort out our many medical concerns. His prompt action and connection to pediatric medical specialists saved us days of worrying and researching our next move.

In the spring of 2006, Dr. Arnold once again came to our rescue when he diagnosed and treated a serious corneal tear in our 15 year old daughter’s eye. Although the condition was serious we were at ease with the protocol of her care and confident in Dr. Arnold’s decisions.

Regardless of the situation, whether routine eye care or serious injury we will continue to be patients of the Eye Center for as long as we live in Northern Colorado. The care my children received went beyond medical expertise. I now look upon Mac’s Christmas day mishap as a gift that led us to a practice with physicians whose experience, knowledge and compassion is exceptional.

“My cataract surgery the summer of 2006 by Dr. Karl Olsen was a painless and most gratifying experience. I chose the ReZoom lens and now my youthful 20/20 vision is bright, clear, and just perfect! No more glasses!”
